This is the architect’s own house in Canberra’s Inner South heritage precinct of Blandfordia 5 in Griffith. Our aim was to unlock the potential of a small heritage house on a generous block. We sought to create a modern family home that seamlessly matched the heritage bones of the existing cottage.

The front of the house was largely renovated with the heritage detailing replicated. The rear of the house was an open plan extension with crisper detailing and design decisions that facilitated modern family living and furnishing.

The result was the creation of a family home that is great to live in.
