Our brief was to update the clients’ south coast holiday house.

We were presented with a house that had an underutilised view, no sense of entry, pokey circulation and dated inclusions. With these challenges, there was also the issue of budget posed by renovating a holiday house versus your primary residence.

A new entry was created at the front of the house with an open airy staircase to access the second floor where the primary living spaces are located.  The kitchen was opened up to better address the living area and new windows introduced to maximize the view. The rest of the house was renovated, with the result being the family holiday shack becoming the ‘holiday home’.
